Does 1waylinks work? Let’s find out.
Baseline 3/31/09 -
Page Indexed: No

):
I’m going to write the article now and send it over. Hoping it will be posted today and things should be underway.

Baseline 4/7/09 -
Following the bizarre twist in this case study, revolving around the denial of the first submission, see details at Jonathan Leger - 1WayLinks Fails To Meet Expectations? (Case Study), I am now targeting a different site and unrelated keywords. After sending the new submission text to someone, here are the baseline measurements for the site:
Page indexed: Yes (I wanted to measure an unindexed page but do not have that opportunity this time around)
Backlinks: 1630
SERPs:
Hopefully the submission will go through today or tomorrow and I can provide some data soon.

Update 4/15/09 -
It has been a little over a week since the experiment post was accepted. This is not the cleanest case study as the target URL is already earned some links and may still be earning a few residual. However, it should be clean enough for this experiment.
Here is an update on the numbers:
Backlinks: 1690 (note that this shows an increase of 60 yet only a dozen sites have been reported through the 1WL interface - so several of these links are old links just now being counted)
SERPs:
Three of the results are worse and one is better. The traffic has remained consistent and should continue to stay that way until a #1 is captured. I was close with term #3 but since using 1WL have slid a little. I am told by the user who submitted for me, that the results he has seen have taken approximately 3-4 weeks from end of circulation. He targeted me at 50 links and we are approximately 25% of the way.
After reviewing the initial posted links, I am already getting a feel for the service. Despite the really shitty customer service, I am seeing the source pages, of the links, are higher quality than AMA. That comes with a drawback of the quota system and being forced to submit a blog of your own into the system. However, if 50 links turns out to be decent for ranking on these easy terms, then it would be worth the quota hassle.

Update 4/29/09 -
It’s just shy of one month since this case study went live and I think we have seen some strong improvement. The only two questions keeping this case study from coming to a close are whether the findings are conclusive (they wouldn’t allow my clean page with zero links so I had to default to a page already earning links from other methods) and whether they will last. From what I have read, 1WL results may not be long lasting. So I will leave this case study open for another month to verify the long term value of the service. As it stands right now, here are the stats for the site/links for the 1WL submission:
Backlinks: 2330 (note that only 50 links come from 1WL so the results need to be taken with a grain of salt. this is an increase of 640 which means we have 590 links that could have also impacted the results!)
SERPs:
The backlinks from 1WL are SLIGHTLY above average compared to AMA. The big problem here is that you are limited on the number you can get, because of the quota system. In the end, however, as of today we are seeing considerable improvement in a couple of the terms and I have an increase in traffic as a result.
