Alright. You followed all three parts about how to build an adsense farm site. And now you want the proof. Well. There isn’t any….yet
As of writing this post (not publishing), the site is built and all steps are done except the Linkvana and blogroll trades. Linkvana only has the hub and squidoo page posts to go and those will be done in about an hour’s worth of work. The link trades might take a bit as this is a MICRO niche. Not much out there to trade with.
So we will start this page with the following base information.
2/12/09:
Is the site indexed? No. But the yahoo answer page is as that is the only result when I search for the URL. The question was posted two days ago. Not sure why it is not indexed yet, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. Oh well. Patience is a virtue I suppose.
Absolutely no traffic has graced the site save for development traffic (my own).
No revenue earned.
No backlinks recorded on either google or yahoo.

2/13/09:
site was indexed this morning. only a single deep page though. no traffic or revenue changes.
================================================
2/17/09:
Site is fully indexed now and ranking for terms. Here are the terms and the ranking (singular/plural forms of the keywords):
pg #112/?
pc #81/50
pgc #10/12
Revenue: None
SE Traffic: 0 hits from google, less than a dozen from blog comment traffic (the goal here is search traffic and traffic reporting utilities are notoriously inaccurate. hopefully this one isn’t a #1 dud!)
================================================
2/18/09:
Quick SERP update:
pg #130/491
pc #19/3
pgc #6/10
So that puts three phrases in the top 10, and one in the top 3. And not all of my LV posts have gone live yet and I have only build LV posts for the hub pages and none of the squidoo yet. Those should help as well. No revenue to speak of yet, but then again there has been zero search traffic.

2/25/09:
After a couple days in the top 5 for three terms, the site plummeted to the nether regions of the SERPs about two days ago and hasn’t returned. Although this could be the google dance, the fact that it has been a few days makes me think that this is a sandbox.
This is a very unspammy niche, so I find this very odd, especially with the relatively low number of links build (100 or so) across two weeks. At this point if it does not return to the top of the SERPs, I will either have to continue to build more links over time to make it look like a real site, or walk away altogether.
================================================
2/27/09:
Looks like it was probably just the ‘Google Dance’ shaking up my SERPs. I’m back to the top 5 for 3 of the terms:
pg #100/?
pc #15/5
pgc #4/3
I removed adsense in case it was getting sandboxed. So definitely no earnings. I will not put it back on until it starts getting traffic (probably only for #1).
Traffic is still nil. Either the traffic estimation was off, or traffic is hovering on results #1 and #2.
A definite SERP improvement. However all LV submissions are now live, and almost all counted. Probably won’t be much more movement from LV alone. But it got me into top 5 for three terms
================================================
3/18/09:
SERPs have solidified a bit and we are looking at a pretty strong showing so far. With very little traffic to speak of, however, I still have not put adsense on. Traffic won’t appear until top 1 or 2 positions for this small of a search count. But here are the current standings:
pg #66/11?
pc #10/4
pgc #3/3
As you can see, a month down the road and 3 terms are top 5, and two around the top 10 mark. A few more LV posts or an AMA submission should pop this to the top. Then we can put adsense onto it.

3/30/09:
I think it is time to end this study. I haven’t had enough time to put more LV links up, but I did submit a few AMA articles to give a bit more of a boost to the site. It sees zero traffic in the top 3 and probably requires a number 1 position to see any traffic whatsoever. Is it worth the effort? Not really. But at least I got to demonstrate just how easy it is to build a site and get it ranked somewhat well.
Here is the current rankings:
pg #69/61
pc #8/3
pgc #3/3
We saw a little movement, but nothing major. Again, link building was minimal at best, and I expect very little traffic. The whole point was to show how easy it is to build a farm site and get it ranked. Were I to have a money site in the same niche, I now have a fairly authoritative site that I can leverage to boost a second site even higher. That’s how the game is played.
I have a farm case study in planning stages where I will show how I leverage ~15 sites to push to the top of a search phrase. But that is still in the planning. Until then, I consider this case study close.
