Got quite a bit done today thanks to it being a holiday. I spent a lot of time last night working with support to get one of my reseller accounts working. The end result? It still isn’t 100% but the domains on that account are now working well enough for me to move forward. I suspect more domains added to that account will also fail and I am not looking forward to that interaction with support.
However, since they got that account mostly functional, I was able to build and initial link (digg, pingoat, BMD, RSS) site #14 (i miscounted in a previous post, and this is literally the 14th new site built). I now have 14 new sites since starting this ‘market research’ project. With having to hire new writers this may slow down slightly but I hope not significantly. I have several applicants for my writer position and I will make at least one offer today, maybe a second tomorrow.
As for my new sites, i have noticed something. Nearly all, including the sites i built yesterday (!!!) are ranking page one. I may not be getting much traffic but it looks like my keyword research is FINALLY accurate. Minimal linking and I am able to land page one! I am thinking about becoming a bit more critical of the keywords i go for now. Now that i know i’m analyzing competition accurately, I need to target higher traffic and higher CPC. Doing so will most likely lower the amount of EMDs i am able to create so i’ll keep my current list criteria for constant output while trying to refine my research to favor higher CPC and searches. But this is great news regardless!
On top of the new site being built, I was able to submit AMAs for all of my sites that existed before this new site project. In total I was able to submit 13 AMAs in about an hour (OMG i love MAR!!!!), linking out to about 20 sites. Some of the articles overlapped in a niche so i was able to put in a link to two sites in a single article. MAR has sped up this process so significantly that i don’t have words for my amazement. Simply, without MAR, the same process would have taken me 3-4 hours.
I took a look at my overall site rankings today and can report that my link farm links aren’t doing shit. I mean nada. Then again, i linked out to some highly competitive terms. I may leverage them again in the near future, but building sites seems to be more productive since i am starting to see clicks come in. They are few and far between, but considering about 10 new sites is getting me close to 15 bucks a week, I’m seeing SOME results. Nothing phenomenal yet, but I’m still learning. Finally, i’m learning. I can now see how Ben and Iser got to where they are now by putting in the damned effort. I need to keep plugging away and refining as i go, and I am confident I will see nice returns. I may not hit the 2k/month mark this month, or even next month, but i can see it happening in a few months for sure. Building 1k of extra passive income in a few months will be a noteworthy feat in my eyes and will make me very, very happy.
Oh and the other thing i noticed from the rankings is that my SEN experiment resulting in rankings not only popping up several places to #47, but in holding that ranking. It’s not a top 10 result, but it’s a marked improvement. I’m now focusing an AMA on that term to see if it will bump up further, but I don’t expect much movement on that site as it’s an EEMD (extended EMD).
I definitely see EMDs performing many times better than EEMDs. I see no slap in that regard.
